Cancer treatment centres that join the Oncology Data Network (ODN) will help to shape the direction of the Network. The ODN has also established a robust governance framework to ensure it meets the needs of the broader oncology community and that it works in a complementary way to existing initiatives. This framework involves patient organisations, healthcare professionals, industry and policy makers.
International clinical and scientific committee
The ODN is governed by a Clinical and Analytical Steering Committee made up of leading scientists and oncologists, with expertise in cancer care delivery and the development of clinical best practice.
Country Advisory Groups
Country Advisory Groups are being established in every country that is participating in the ODN. They help to advise on Network development, engagement with national bodies and organisations, and clinical practice at a national level.
Expert Panel
The ODN has established an Expert Panel with representation from oncologists, specialist nurses, patients, hospital pharmacists, researchers, academics and hospitals managers. The Expert Panel helps ensure the ODN reflects the views and needs of the wider oncology community.
Broader Collaboration
In addition to the Governance bodies listed above, the ODN is engaging and working with other healthcare professional organisations, patient advocacy groups, research bodies and existing oncology hospital networks. For example, it has collaborated with the European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) on research on pragmatic outcomes measurement.
